Buon giorno!
In September, 1999, I visited for the
first time the homeland of half of my heritage -- Italy (Italia). I spent three
days in Venice (Venezia), followed by three in Lake Como (Lago di Como).
It was spectacular. The only downside was my inability to find a
restaurant that would make me my favorite Italian entree, chicken parmigiana, or
a bakery that made my favorite Italian dessert pastry, sfogliadelle.
Regarding the former, one irate restauranteur responded, "That's not
Italian food." My silent retort, "Incorrecto, Pietro -- Italians
have been making it for me all my life."
The scenery was beautiful, as I hope the
following photo gallery manages to convey. Clicking on each thumbnail will
take you to a full version of the picture.
Ciao!
